Joyce A. Munro

Joyce Munro, age 94, of Granville, passed away on July 30, 2016.  Joyce was born and raised in Suffern, NY, daughter of the late Basil M. and Mildred Hall.  She graduated from Tusculum College with a B.A. in economics and sociology after which she began an intensive course in structural design and engineering at Columbia University, followed by six months training at Grumman Aircraft Corp. Joyce then worked for twelve years in aircraft structural design and drafting at Grumman, where she met her beloved husband Robert (Bob).  She left work to raise her family, but later became the administrative assistant at the Setauket Presbyterian Church on Long Island, NY.  After retirement, Joyce and Bob moved to Granville to be near their family.  She became an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving on the properties committee and leading the craft group for the Chloe Wells Circle for several years. Joyce loved gardening, crafts, working on jigsaw puzzles, traveling to visit friends and spending time with her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and known for her kind and generous spirit. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Robert Munro, daughters Susan (Ron) Davis and Jan (David) Hill, grandchildren Janet (Marcus) Diddle, Jonathan (Amanda) Davis and Benjamin Davis, as well as three great-grandsons.  In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Allyn and sister, Dorothy.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Granville after a private internment.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the Granville Presbyterian Church, 110 W.
