Timothy Spray

A graveside service will be held for Timothy D. Spray, 65, of Columbus, at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 1, 2022 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville. Following the graveside service a lunch & memories will be shared at Spring Valley Nature Preserve, 1539 Columbus Rd., Granville.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 31st from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.

Tim passed away July 23, 2022 at O.S.U. Medical Center East in Columbus. He was born in Newark, Ohio to the late John and Alice Spray. A 1975 graduate of Granville High School and an Ohio University Alumnus, Tim was a proud member of the 1975 LCL Championship Basketball Team.

Prior to a career in automotive sales, Tim was a golf club designer and initial employee of Pal Joey. He treasured the game of golf, was a passionate O.S.U. football and basketball fan, and loved music and cooking. He developed a chili spice recipe that could warm any soul. Tim will be remembered for his kind and caring disposition and love of family. He helped many through his association with Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church and attended Faith United Methodist Church in Newark.

Surviving are his children, Kyle Spray and Breana Spray; siblings and their spouses, Cheryl and Glenn Deweese, Richard and Linda Spray, and Robert D. Spray; nieces and nephews, significant other, Rebecca G. Thomas and her children Elizabeth (Mike) and Anthony, and grandchildren, Luna, Aurora, and Stella.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by one brother, John E. Spray, Jr.
