Richard Theisen Obituary

Richard M. “Rick” Theisen, hockey fan, track and field aficionado, and follower of Snoopy passed away March 27, 2023 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan to the late Henry and Eleanor Theisen. He was a salesman and distributor, who prior to retirement, represented Pepperidge Farm and Quaker Oats.

A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Rick was a Cross Country and Track & Field athlete while attending college, something that carried through from his youth and continued through his lifetime. He was a member of the USA Track & Field Association and served as an event referee. He was also a devoted EMU Alumnus, enjoyed traveling, and spending time at the beach. He will be remembered for his strong conviction and passionate disposition, welcoming and personable nature, and how he loved his family dearly.

Surviving are his children and their spouses; Chris and Kelly Theisen, Kayla and Spencer Baldwin, and Caitlin and Sean Vollenweider; sister, Barbara (Andy) Sowa; brother, Kenneth Theisen; sister-in-law, Virginia Theisen; partner, Lynn Rausch; Lynn’s children and their spouses, Matthew and Jessica Dickinson, Jacob Dickinson, and Andy and Katie Dickinson; bonus grandchildren, Frankie, Matty, Ray, Aiden, Ashten, Braelynn, Dryden, and Lilly.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Henry.

A celebration of Rick’s Life will be held from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Karen J. Chakoian sharing remembrances at 1:30 P.M.
