Patrica "Patti" A. Busch

Patricia A. “Patti” Busch a compassionate and joyful woman passed to eternity on February 10, 2023 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, in Newark, at the age of 71. She was born in Seattle, Washington to the late Reesman M. and Elizabeth A. Curtin.

With a flair for creativity and love of beauty, Patti worked as a floral designer with Roots and Shoots in Newark and Griffin Floral Design in Pataskala. She loved baking and cooking with her children and grandchildren, traveling, and decorating for events and being with her church family. She illuminated the world with her presence and the love of God. She shared Christ with people on missions to Africa, China, Mexico, Alaska, and locally at Vertical 196. Patti loved everyone she met. She brought joy to people's lives in simple ways, like wearing her bright yellow boots on rainy days, being present with people, her strength, and her gentle and caring nature.

Surviving are her loving family and husband of 46 years, Harry C. “Buddy” Busch; children and their spouses, Anna and Mauro Guerrero, Jr., Megan Stabile, and Zachary and Marissa Busch; grandchildren, Esteban, Ausia, Bebel, Bria and Luca; siblings, Rick and Jean Curtin, Chris and Burt Ellison, Jan and Raul Angulo, and Becky and Barry Bye and special “adopted” son, Javier and his wife MaryAnn Nunez who was brought into the family through an International Student Family Program.

A funeral service celebrating Patti’s life will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Spring Hills Baptist Church, 1820 Newark Granville Road, Granville with Rev. Tom Pound as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held at Wilson Cemetery. In honor of Patti’s beautiful life, the family requests you wear colorful clothing to celebrate her life and bring one flower to create a beautiful bouquet together.

In lieu of formal flower bouquets, memorial contributions are encouraged to Vertical 196, 196 S. Fifth Street, Newark, OH 43055.
