Leonard Langley Obituary

A graveside service will be held for Leonard L. Langley, 97, formerly of Granville, at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with Rev. Casey Wilson as celebrant and military honors rendered by the Licking County Veteran Alliance.

Leonard passed away January 19, 2021 at his home in Oviedo, Florida surrounded by family. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Wilson and Lucie Langley.

A veteran of World War II, Leonard served in the Army and fought in Normandy among other areas. He was a graduate of Denison University and was employed by the F.C.C. as an electrical engineer for 42 years with 30 of those years being in Puerto Rico. He enjoyed photography, but his passion was his tree farm on Welsh Hills Road.

During his retirement years he spent most of his time sharing his beautiful tree farm with his family and friends.  He worked hard during the warm months chopping firewood which he sold to the locals.  The winter months were spent in Florida shelling black walnuts that he harvested off his farm.  His walnuts were enjoyed by many customers across the country.

Leonard will be remembered as hard-working, kind, and generous. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend. He lived a long, wonderful blessing filled life and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Joan; four children and their spouses, Larry and Koreen Langley, Keith Langley, George and Sisa Langley and Carol and Hugh Fain; grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Isabel, and Kayla.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
