Obituary

Jeri Lyn Geitz, age 71, passed peacefully into eternity on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Born February 24, 1951 Jeri was a 1969 graduate of Granville High School and long-term resident of Hebron, Ohio. She worked at the Aladdin Restaurant in Granville and the Winery in Columbus, Ohio.  She is preceded in death by her parents Helen Geitz and Kenneth Geitz and survived by her siblings John Geitz of Trophy Club, Texas, Jean Rockey of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Jody Geitz of Armenia, Colombia, SA.

Jeri, despite significant mental health issues, maintained an impeccable household in Hebron for decades and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her extensive collection of cookbooks was a source of inspiration for her fine cooking. Music was also of great interest to Jeri. As a young adult, Jeri listened to a wide variety of music and shared this passion with all who came in contact with her. She enjoyed playing the clarinet in the GHS band, loved the Beatles, had extensive knowledge of 60’s psychedelic, blues, rock and roll, and enjoyed the classical piano pieces of Richard Clayderman. In her final days music gave her much solace.

She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests supporting your local mental health organizations and spending quality time in the great outdoors with your loved ones.
