Isabel Beggs Obituary

Isabel May "Fifi" Beggs, age 100, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Newark, Ohio with family by her side. Isabel was born May 1, 1922, in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, England to parents Hubert and Winifred (Bonney) Champion. Isabel came to the United States in 1946 as a war bride to an American soldier. She settled in Granville initially before moving to Newark and later Buckeye Lake. She lived in the Newark area for most of 75 years. While the last two years were more challenging, Isabel’s passions for her family, gardening, knitting, good English tea (with a cookie), and happy hour, along with her fabulous sense of humor, contributed to an adventurous, full, wonderful life.

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rosa (Joseph) Finch and Eva Mary (Frank) Wiley; brother, Charles William (Joyce) Champion; her beloved husband, Leslie Styron Beggs, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Anna (Charles) Ramsey; son-in-law, Herbert Kraning; grandson, Larry Kraning; and nephews, Bill and Mike Finch.

Surviving are daughters, June (Jerry) Nethers of Newark and Rosemary Kraning of Punta Gorda, FL; son, Leslie Styron (Isabella) Beggs, III of Longboat Key, FL; grandchildren, Ronald (Angela) Trager, Deborah (Jennifer Rambin) Trager, David (Tanya) Trager, Amy (Shannon Sowers) Trager, Sarah (Larry) Hall, Mike (Susan) Nethers, Amy (Chuck) McMarrow, John (Alison) Nethers, Sherrie (Jim) Beeler, Kimberly (Billie) Hayes, Tracey (Todd) Brown, Lori (John) Demolet, Herbert (Debi) Kraning, Gordon (Barb) Kraning, Paul (Tracey) Kraning, Scott (Kelly) Beggs, Amanda Wood, Alison (Brian) Willey, Katherine (Michael) Hughes, and Sheila (David) Loccisano; 60 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews and their families.
