Edna L. Balser

Edna L. Balser, age 72 of Granville, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Inn at Summit Trail, Reynoldsburg.  She was born November 11, 1951, in Granville, Ohio to the late Carl and Olga (Fry) Balser.

Edna was a 1970 graduate of Granville High School.  She was very involved with the Theater, performing with the Granville Players and Weathervane Playhouse where she served as Board President.  She loved to sing.

Edna enjoyed traveling both in the United States and abroad. As well as gambling when given the opportunity.  She volunteered at the Granville Historical Society and volunteered with the restoration of the Old Colony Burial Ground.

On more than one occasion she donated her hair to Locks of Love.  Edna was an avid animal lover, known to frequently take in strays. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very social. 

Edna is survived by her brothers, Lynn (Linda) Balser of Georgia, Earl (Carol) Balser of Granville, Lee Balser of Newark, John (Sally) Balser of Newark and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Monday March 18, 2024, at McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect Street, Granville.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville.
