Obituary

Carolyn Sue Boyd joined her parents, John and Marguerite Krause, Friday, February 24, 2023, after a full life in central and eastern Ohio.

Born in Detroit in August 1935, she met her husband of 67 years, Bernard Franklin Boyd, at Muskingum College. Together, they raised two children in Reynoldsburg, Deborah Sue and John Bernard. In 1978, they launched Boyd’s Crystal Art Glass in Cambridge, OH, which produced one-of-a-kind collectibles in unique colors for more than 30 years. An avid collector of fine Cambridge glassware, Steiff teddy bears, and Tom Clark Gnomes, she found contentment in knitting hats for family and friends. Upon retiring to Granville, she continued her knitting with the Kendal/Otterbein community – crafting newborn hats for central Ohio hospitals.

Celebrating her life are Bernard F. Boyd; children, Debbie Campbell (Jim), John Boyd (Karen); grandchildren, Brian Ballmann (Kimmy), Jennifer Alfman, Patrick Boyd, and Elizabeth Boyd (Moussa Moussa); and great grandchildren, Kirsten Alfman, Chelsey Alfman, and Alex Ballmann; and great great grandson, Liam Alfman.

A private service will be held at Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge, Ohio.
