Keifer Boggess, Jr. Obituary

An outdoorsman, loving husband, father, and grandfather, Keifer W. Boggess, Jr., 73, of Hebron, formerly of Johnstown, died April 2, 2019. Keifer was born in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Keifer W. and Lillian Boggess.

A retired systems analyst with the State of Ohio, Keifer was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He was an auto enthusiast who enjoyed NASCAR, college football, and getting together with his Mifflin High School lunch group. Keifer was an ardent hunter and fisherman, member of the Church of St. Edward the Confessor and the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club. He will be remembered for the many life lessons and knowledge that he has shared with his sons.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Cheryl M. Boggess; sons and daughters-in-law, Keifer W. Boggess, III, Danielle Boggess, Jerod and Bethann Boggess, and Conner Boggess and his fiancé, Sarah Maricevich; grandchildren, Evan, Brandi, Ava, and John Darby; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Linda Boggess; sister, Charlotte Phillips; brothers-in-law and their wives, Al and Stephanie Dantzer, Charles and Shar Dantzer, Edward and Stephanie Dantzer, William and Daniele Dantzer; sister-in law and her husband, Joanne and Glenn Anderson.

In addition to his parents, Keifer was preceded in death by his son, John M. Boggess who died in 2017 and brother-in-law, Harry Phillips.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Monsignor Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Private Interment with military honors will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:30-7:30 P.M. at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
