Herman Leo Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Herman R. Leo, 81, of Johnstown, at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Church of the Ascension, 555 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH with Rev. Mark Ghiloni as celebrant. A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania.

As a retired aircraft mechanic with Delta Airlines, Herman passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Inn at Summit Trail in Reynoldsburg. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Herman and Louise Leo.

Herman graduated from North Catholic High School in Troy Hill, PA and from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He was a Navy veteran who served with the 216th Attack Squadron based in Moffett Field, California. Herman was a member of Ascension Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, NRA, and enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Lenna; children and their spouses, Rory Leo, Denise Simeone, Scott and April Leo and Valerie and Bruce Bierl; grandchildren, Samantha, Louie, Justin, Makayla, Milton, Dominic, Valerie, and Tina; six great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Willam and Janet Leo; and sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and William Herring.

In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Louis Simeone and daughter-in-

law, Michelle Leo.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.

Memorial contributions in honor of Herman may be made as a Memorial Mass or to Central Ohio Alzheimer’s Association, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215.
