Elinor B Davis

A funeral service will be held for Elinor B. Davis, 82, formerly of Granville, at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Elinor passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at New Lexington Center. She was born in Granville to the late Embert and Ada (Johnson) Blackstone.

A graduate of Granville High School and member of the Class of 1952, Elinor was employed as a receptionist at Denison University, the Granville Inn, and Dr. Oster’s office. She was a kind and generous person who could be ornery and was a talented artist. Her paintings could be found in local stores, galleries, and The Licking County Art Museum. Elinor also enjoyed ceramics and weaving.

Surviving are her sons, Harold E. (Gay) Davis, Jr., W. Gary (Janelle) Davis, and Michael L. (Terry) Davis; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Elinor was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Davis who died in 1989; four brothers and one sister.
