I just learned of Chuck's passing. I am not even sure if Chuck would have remembered me, but he was a huge icon and role model in my life at GHS. I'm 4 yrs younger, but my goal was always to emulate his accomplishments. I never succeeded. Although I have not seen Chuck in decades, I would speak about his accomplishments, courage, toughness, and example to many folks; most of whom never knew him. Chuck had THAT much impact in my life. My sincere condolences to you all. He'll be missed, but cherished by more folks than he ever knew. God's peace and blessing to you all.

That is a wonderful remembrance of Chuck, and I am sure he remembered you. I can guarantee it. He never met anyone he didn't appreciate and he had wonderful regard for all. I very much appreciate your memories and thoughts. It is a great legacy that you added to. We had a service that we hoped honored his personality and memory. So many people said they wished they had known him that I think we succeeded.
