Brenda S. Butt

A celebration of life reception will be held for Brenda S. Butt, 61, of Granville, from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. on December 8, 2018 at the Bryn Du Mansion Field House, 537 Jones Road, Granville. A private Memorial Mass will be held at the Church of St. Edward the Confessor.

Brenda had a five year battle with cancer and passed away November 15, 2018 in the care of Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark. She was born in Sanford, Maine to Janet and James Shea.

A passionate and gifted early childhood educator, Brenda earned her degree from The Ohio State University. She had the ability and desire to make a difference in many children’s lives and was most recently employed at Flying Colors Preschool.

An awesome friend of many, Brenda cherished family and making memories whether it be at the beach, kids’ sporting events, or just spending time at home. She enjoyed flower gardening and cooking. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Neil Butt; children and their spouses, Jessica and Anthony Mautz, Josh Butt and Megan and Carl Roberts; grandchildren, Madden, Maggie, and Charlie; mother, Janet Shea; brother, Todd Shea; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tracey and Bill Fleitz and Laura and Mike Duncan; mother-in-law, Evelyn Butt; brother-in-law, Rodney Butt; and nine nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, James Shea, father-in-law, Ralph Butt and brother-in-law, Doug Butt.
