Millie M. (Foster) Snelling

A memorial service celebrating the life of Millie M. Snelling, 75, of Newark, formerly Granville, will be held Saturday, Oct 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodside Presbyterian Church, 295 Woods Ave, Newark, Ohio with Pastor Judy Baker as celebrant.  A graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service at 9:30 A.M. at Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville.

Millie passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 10, 2016 at her home.  She was born in Newark to the late Clifford W. and Adaline J. (Sipe) Foster. 

A lifetime committed to family, friends and church, Millie was very giving.  She was a member of the Woodside Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon, and was a member of the choir and Mother’s Club.  She was also a member of TOPS.  Millie enjoyed reading, playing games with family, attending plays at Weathervane, and traveling, especially to Amish Country. She will be remembered in the hearts of many as being a loving mother and aunt, No. 1 cousin, and loyal friend.

Surviving are her daughters and spouse, Laurie and Jim Loper, and Mindy Keelin and John Vannoy all of Newark; nieces and nephews, Rick and Donna Foster, Janice and Scott Russell, Lynne and Mark Comisford, Chad Henningsgaard, Kim Parent, David Way, Lisa and Jim Posey, and Jennifer and Daniel Way-Wilmer; and sisters-in-law, Sharon (Mike) Henry of Eugene, OR, and Linda Way of Newark.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Snelling who died March, 20, 2012; and brother, Clifford S. Foster.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., in Granville.
