A memorial service will be held for Kathleen B. Wallace Ph.D., 72, of Granville, at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, Granville with Rev. Karen J. Chakoian as celebrant.

A retired educator, Kathleen died September 22, 2017 at Kendal at Granville. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Joseph R. and Hildegarde (Mayer) Barkmeyer.

Dr. Wallace taught English, Dance, and Theater at Columbus Public, Newark City Schools, C.O.T.C. and Denison University. She earned her Ph.D. in communications from the Ohio State University and did her undergraduate work at the University of Dayton. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Society, board member of Weathervane Play House, and member and former elder at First Presbyterian Church

where she participated in the Liturgical Dance Group and Light Readers Group.  Kathleen enjoyed reading, writing, sewing, needle work, and eating wholesome foods.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Jennifer Wallace; cousins, Michael and Wanda Markowski, Paul and Libba Markowski, and Mary and Steve Harbour; brothers-in-law, Jack Wallace and his partner Bruce Williams, and Bruce and Jill Wallace.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Richard Egbert Wallace and uncle, Carol F. Markowski.
