A master carpenter, Ned was born in 1946 in Newark, Ohio to the late Edwin R. and Mary (Shinn) Roberts. He passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at this home.

After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in English literature, Ned served four years in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia. He returned to Ohio to learn the oil service industry and spent time drilling wells in the North Sea. He would later return to Granville where he built and remodeled homes. He loved woodworking, making furniture, and teaching others his craft. For many years Ned served as president of Spring Valley Pool and worked very hard for it to become a nature preserve.

A multifaceted person, Ned had a zest for life and adventure. He enjoyed the outdoors and could be found kayaking, biking, swimming, rollerblading, skating and playing hockey. He cherished his time spent on Snake Island, the family property located in Georgian Bay, Canada. He will be remembered as a true Renaissance man and spiritual person who was a voracious reader with an appreciation of poetry and writing. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Kraseman Roberts; daughters and sons-in-law, Lauren and Jeff Mente and Diana and Greg Coats; grandchildren, Brandon, Audrey, and Abigail; twin sister and brother-in law, Molly and John Littleton; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne and Jim Ormond, Sally and Chip Gordon, Betsy and Grant Turner.

In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by his son, Todd Roberts who died in 2013.
