After living an uneventful life, Beth Pearthree Albertson, 66, reached her expiration date on March 14, 2017, dying as she lived, uneventfully, of diffuse adenocarcinoma – stomach cancer.  As she explained it, she ended up at the pass of Thermopylae but wasn’t Persian.

She was born in St. Paul, MN, graduated from HS in Pine City, MN (the place she called home), attended the University of Minnesota (which she called her alma mater,) graduated from University of Delaware, and, after doing graduate work at the University of Kentucky and the University of Oklahoma, completed graduate work at Lindenwood Colleges in St. Charles, MO where she earned her MBA.  As a trailing spouse, she worked for the News Journal Newspapers in Wilmington, Delaware; in educational testing for the US Army at Ft. Knox, KY; as an accounting tutor and sculptor’s assistant in Moore, OK; as a graduate student and accountant for a plumbing contractor in St. Charles, MO; as an accountant and then the owner of a home improvement company in Dunellen and White House Station, NJ; as a college instructor and owner of another home improvement company in Cincinnati, OH before finally retiring to her favorite home improvement project, the family log home near Flint Ridge, OH, where she died overlooking the beauty of the forest and pond while being entertained by a never ending array of turkey vultures, deer, mink, and fox.

She is survived by the kind, talkative, gentle boy she met in Lutheran confirmation class who 8 years later became her husband of over 45 years, Edward (Ed/aka HIMSELF/Eddie) Albertson; their daughter, Kristina Zakrzewski (Rob); their son, Joshua Albertson; her “other daughter”, Amanda Geis VanHorn; her grandcherubs: grandson, Alexander Zakrzewski and granddaughter, Skylar Zakrzewski; her younger sisters, Francey Pearthree of Georgia, Kathleen Pearthree of Nevada, Jeanne Wilson (Steve) of Florida; and her baby brother, Herbert (Herbie) Pearthree (Patty) of North Carolina; her brother-in-law, Kirk Albertson (Candy), her father-in-law Edward M. Albertson; her very special cousin, Mary Pearthree Johnson (Dennis); her aunts and uncles, Bev Loomis, Jean Pearthree, Jim Barott, and Harold (Bud) Pearthree; a passel of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her Godchildren, Erin Lea Enderle, Lexi Pearthree, and Shawn Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis LuVerne Pearthree and Ruth Rosalind Rowe Pearthree; her younger brother, James Stephen Pearthree (Steve); and her best buddy, Tom Meier.

Since her type of cancer did not allow her to donate her body to The Ohio State University Body Donor Program, she will be cremated and her ashes spread with her father’s, Godmother’s, and Best Buddy's in Minnesota.

In her memory, please consider donating to the Pelotonia where All donations go to cancer research at the James Cancer Center in Columbus whose kind, capable staff made having an intolerable disease far more tolerable.  Her entire family supported the Pelotonia for 5 years before her diagnosis with her husband, daughter, and good friend, Rob Schmulling, bicycling hundreds of fund raising miles in hopes of helping fund the cure for the cancer which would ultimately claim her life.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Church of Granville, 115 W. Broadway St., in Granville with Rev. Dwight Davidson officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior the service at 10:00 A.M.
