Barbara J. LeCoumpte, 76, of Granville. Barb passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, in Newark. She was born in Newark, Ohio to the late Donald Magers and Alta Jean (Snell) Ashton.

An independent person with a zest for life, Barb had a strong work ethic and was a woman of character. She retired from Anheuser Busch after 30 years and also from Western Electric where she was employed for 20 years. She was a wonderful mother, had many friends including her canine companions, and enjoyed traveling.

Surviving are her daughters, Vicki Elaine Murray, Bobbi Peterman, and Sherri Sermon; grandchildren, Sonnie, Zachary, Jason, Amanda, Jessica, Stephanie, and Brittanie; great grandchildren, Ian, Matthew, Leighton, Christian, Kayley, Landon, Evan, Brooklin, Aiden, Alex, Austin, and Kaiden; half-brother, William Ashton; and half-sister, Sally Byrd Ashton.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by two brothers.
